Eryanto is the Chair of the Indonesian Foundation for Law and Policy Studies (YSHK), which houses the leading legal think tank: the Indonesian Center for Law and Policy Studies (PSHK), and the pioneering Jentera School of Law. Eryanto is also a member of the advisory board of Hukumonline.com, Indonesia’s leading legal information website.

Eryanto Nugroho is a PhD candidate at Melbourne Law School. He researches the concept of civil society, investigating how the concept is defined and regulated by Indonesian law to provide new insights and better understand the concept and its practices. Eryanto’s research interests cover the areas of law and civil society, not-for-profit law, civic space, Indonesian law reform, and human rights law.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Indonesia and a Master of Laws degree from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, and has also been Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School.
