s200_gerald.rocheGerald Roche is an anthropologist whose work currently focuses on the politics of language in Tibet. More broadly, he is interested in issues of language endangerment, maintenance, and revitalization and how these relate to social justice. He has held positions at Uppsala University and University of Melbourne. Dr Roche co-edited the Routledge Handbook of Language Revitalization (2018), and his articles have appeared in the International Journal of the Sociology of Language, China Quarterly, Modern Asian Studies, Asian Ethnicity, and Language Documentation and Conservation.
